The value of claims against doctors continues to rise and dealing with an allegation that a patient has been damaged by negligence is very distressing.
Although the NHS indemnifies hospital doctors, this indemnity is limited to claims arising from treatment of NHS patients only. The MDU is here to give members support and reassurance with clinical negligence claims not covered by the NHS scheme.
