The DDU Educational Awards 2008
The DDU is pleased to announce its 2008 Educational Awards, designed to reward dental educators who have had a positive impact on students and vocational dental practitioners.

Recognising excellence in teaching
The DDU educational awards is now in its sixth year and continues to recognise the unsung heros of the dental profession who have had a positive educational impact on students and vocational dental practitioners.
In previous years the awards have identified and rewarded some outstanding dental educators who have the ability to inspire and inform their students in equal measures and we are confident this year will be no exception.
Nomination categories and prizes
The three award categories are:
- Dentist Teacher of the Year
- Dental Care Professional (DCP) Teacher of the Year
- Vocational Teacher of the Year
The prizes are:
- £250 will be awarded to each winning educator and finalist
- £1,000 will be donated towards the cost of educational material to the overall winning school and VT scheme
Vote and win
Nominate the dental educator whom you believe to be the most outstanding. You will be required to rate the person you have nominated against the award criteria and provide a brief summary of why you think they are an excellent choice.
All nominations will be entered into the prize draw for an iPod nano.
To ensure fairness to all nominees only one vote per student or trainee is permitted. The closing date for nominations is 1 September 2008.
